![]() ![]() How can I uninstall MacFUSE A: Launch the Mac OS X System Preferences application and go to the MacFUSE preference pane. ![]() AVOID! Maybe they'll fix it, but not today. It should tell you if theres and update and if so, will also let you download and install it. Oh and of course, as I mentioned above, you have to RESTART after UNinstalling to clear the FUSE crap out of memory. (o_0) Ouch! You have to RESTART a THIRD TIME to clear the chaos. ![]() WHY do I extremely dislike this monster? It requires TWO RESTARTS to finish installing it, only to discover it has wrecked the system such that several errors are thrown, and several app permissions appear to have been damaged. differ from the Linux version of libfuse because the macfuse project was not updated in sync. (3) /Library/Filesystems/strongfuse.fs <-Admin trashable. The main motivation for this project is to replace macfuse. macOS Big Sur or earlier there is no need to update to current version. A partial list of PITA LEFTOVERS: (1) /Library/StatedExtensions/Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs <-Root permissions required to kill it. Together with the macFUSE library, Mounty is working as before, and even better. UNfortunately, the "uninstaller" does NOT install all of it! AND the stupid uninstaller doesn't tell you that you have to RESTART to get it out of RAM. Tough luck! I've UNINSTALLED it! Fortunately, it comes with an uninstaller app. Even so, currently working and fully supported FUSE filesystems for Mac OS X include sshfs (a read-write volume mounted on your desktop via ssh) ftpfs and ntfs-3g (allowing for read/write NTFS such as a normally read-only Boot Camp partition). I installed it because Cryptomator wants to use it. WHY? Because this is by my personal estimation a vastly buggy POS. In OS Recovery, Big Sur and the Catalina are disk3 The os update snapshot is only seen so far while in running Desktop as /dev/disk1s9s1 has a 15.3GB apfs This partition apfs is the Monterey update that did not install for some reason, Reading the Install.log states device bridge problem. DO NOT INSTALL unless you really really really need to. but is seen as a mount Update in Catalina. ![]()
